AT THE SPEEDWAY

Check out these useful tips to make sure you’re comfortable, ready, and able to enjoy every moment of race weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

Food and drink

Fans will find plenty of food choices at concession stands throughout the speedway, including nachos, hamburgers, and hot dogs. On race weekends, additional independent vendors serve pizza, barbecue, and more. Drinks such as coffee, soda, beer, and water are also widely available.

Own food policy
Each guest may bring one small food item, such as a sandwich, chips, crackers, or fruit, packed in a clear bag. Family-sized portions are not allowed. You may also bring one sealed bottle of a non-alcoholic drink.

You can find more information in the Rules for Visitors section.

Communication

Before heading to the Speedway, save your essentials on your phone – your tickets, parking details, and event schedule. Mobile networks often slow down or become unreliable on race day due to heavy demand, so don’t rely on a strong signal everywhere. If you’re coming with a group, choose a meeting point and a backup time in case you get separated.

Noise

The 1-mile dogleg-oval at Phoenix Raceway delivers close, high-speed racing, and the grandstands amplify the sound. When the Cup Series cars are flat out, the noise can be intense. Earplugs are recommended for everyone, and children should always have proper hearing protection.

Taxi & rideshare

Fans using taxis or ride-sharing services such as Uber should head to Entry E (Waze location). This area is set aside for drop-offs and pick-ups, making it the most convenient location for rideshare users.

Weather

In October/early November, Phoenix usually enjoys mild, pleasant weather that’s ideal for race weekend.

  • Daytime highs: around 75–80°F (24–27°C)
  • Evening lows: around 50–55°F (10–13°C)

Rain is rare this time of year, and humidity stays low, making conditions comfortable. Still, it’s smart to bring a light jacket or hoodie for cooler evenings and a light poncho just in case of brief showers.

Stay hydrated throughout the day – bottled water is allowed, and there are drinking fountains around the facility. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses will also help you stay comfortable under the Arizona sun.
